| One way to foster a sense of togetherness in a community is through activities that involve everyone of its members. Organizing an activity that is beneficial not only to a small number of people but to most is most likely to draw more participants. Start with your own neighbours. Take a look at your immediate community and find out if it needs something that does not require government involvement. Beautifying the neighborhood is an example. Gather your neighbors and tell them that your neighborhood is in need of a makeover. It does not have to involve contractors or major overhauls but simple tasks like fixing the fence, creating a garden out of a barren front yard or just as simple as trimming the trees will do. Plan out on planting new trees or flowers along the streets or re-painting the street names will do a lot of wonders to your once sleepy neighborhood. It does not have to be grand but instead make it doable. Nothing fosters a good relationship with neighbors than a common, beautiful goal. |
